Founded in 1998 in London, Ontario, Canada, CD Sharp Information Systems, Ltd. provides customized research and writing support to individual researchers, not-for-profit organizations and multidisciplinary research teams.

We use innovative strategies to help research teams, non-profits and small businesses articulate strategic goals; and we coordinate, write,  edit and help write persuasive business plans and grant funding submissions. We approach every consulting project in close partnership with our clients.

Crystal Sharp, principal grant consultant, researcher, and writer at CD Sharp Information Systems, Ltd., has coordinated funding applications ranging from C$25,000 to C$3.2 million to CIHR, SSHRC, Health Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation, CFI, CHSRF and European FP7 competitions.

Crystal has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Wellesley College,  a Master's degree in Economics from  Boston College, Newton Massachusetts, and a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from Western University, in London, Ontario.

CD Sharp is an independent information business that belongs to a network of similar small businesses and consultancies that offer a range of specialist services. A recent publication, a  special bulletin of the  American Society for Information Science and Technology  (ASIS&T) contains articles, describing the work of independent information businesses, written by members of the Association of Independent Information Professionals. This special bulletin covers two issues: November/December 2010  (Size: 3.7mb), and February/March, 2011  (Size: 6.38 mb).
